The Long Delay

Yet again it has been a while since I have updated the blog, but in fairness this time I was kind of forced into it. I moved house about 5 weeks ago and I am living with Matt now but only just got internet sorted. There is no swimming pool etc but its ok because I probably wouldn't have used it enough and would have felt guilty. We are living in Kings Cross which means we are beside the wondrous O'Malley's. $6 for a jug of beer, can't beat that with a really big stick. When we moved in there was a girl from Manchester that Matt knew and 2 Northern Irish girls living across the hall. It was really cool living beside them because they were great fun and always up for a night out. Unfortunately these nights always ended up in the courthouse until 6/7 in the morning. The courthouse is an awful place, it's like a bookies with a bar but its not actually a bookies! Alas, the girls left 2 weeks ago and we have nobody to call into for a chat.

They are not the only friends I made over here that have gone on their way back home. The same weekend they left, Brian and Fiona, who I met in Melbourne left too. However, Elaine who I met in Nha Trang just arrived so there are still plenty of people around, and Kieran O'Callaghan who used to work in Ammeon is over now too. The best news I've heard recently though is that Robbie is coming over next week. Will be great to see him again.

So not much has really been happening here. Australia Day wasn't as big as people told me it was, although I did enjoy it. We panned out in the sun in Hyde Park listening to live music and then headed to a pub afterwards. Strangely I was home by 2:30 that night. That seems so early now. It was a good aul laugh and everyone was out. I have also been to a couple more Dead Letter Chorus gigs. There is a festival on in a week that I wanted to go to but I had to pull out due to financial constraints.

Work was going well. Joe one the Hutchison Desire award. Its for public relations skills or something like that. It was fun teasing him for a few days. They really loved us in there but obviously not enough because 2 days ago we were given our week's notice. Bit of a kick in the teeth but it will be fine. We'll just have to look for new jobs now and hope to get better money. Joe is working on getting us in doing the same thing in Vodafone. That would be handy. Ideally I'd love to get a job developing in the CBD but that doesn't look likely. The one thing I do know is that since getting to Sydney, the only time I didn't have a job was the first day I got here so I think we will be fine.

I am getting some pictures off Matt to attach to this post, So hope fully they'll be up soon. They are more than likely just of nights out and stuff that we had with the Manchester girls (I know there are 2 NI and 1 Manc but when first I met them there were more mancs and a girl from Belmullet. Plus they were Matts friends from home so they got dubbed the Manc girls).

Marian, Matt, me, can't remember
This was the first night in O'Malleys. Marian and I think Heather are the 2 girls.

In Scruffys
Me and Matt with our neighbours. From left -> right the girls are Aine, Lauren and Mairead. Great fun with them

Our favourite
Me Matt and Mairead... "Don't tell the other 2, but she's our favourite" :)
